Ingredients

  • 1 unsliced loaf French bread
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 c. chopped green onions
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, cut into rings
  • 1 c. shredded cheese
  • butter or margarine

Directions

    Cut loaf of bread lengthwise; wrap in foil and heat at 375° for 10 to 15 minutes.

    In a skillet cook beef with onion until brown. Drain, stir in sour cream, milk, Worcestershire sauce and garlic powder.

    Add 3/4 teaspoon salt.

    Heat but do not boil.

    Remove bread from oven.

    Scoop out some of the middle, pour meat mixture into bread.

    Top with shredded cheese, then heat until cheese is melted.

    Once out of oven add tomato and green pepper rings.

    Slice and serve while still warm.
