Stuffed Cabbage

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 c. rice
  • 1 Tbsp. seasoning salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. bacon fat or butter
  • 1 small head cabbage
  • 1 large can tomato sauce

Directions

    Scald the rice.

    Scald the cabbage until leaves will roll without breaking.

    Take leaves apart.

    When rice is cool, mix in ground chuck, seasoning salt, pepper and bacon fat or butter.

    Put rice and ground chuck mixture in cabbage leaves and roll tight enough to hold mixture.

    Put in cooking pot and add tomato sauce and water, enough to cover them.

    Bake in 350° oven for 1 1/2 hours or until tender.
