  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. sausage
  • 1/2 c. green pepper, chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 slices bread, torn into small pieces
  • 1 medium head cabbage
  • 1 pt. can tomato juice
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 2 or 3 Tbsp. vinegar (optional; if you like tart taste)
  • 1 tsp. sugar

    Boil cabbage and 1 teaspoon sugar about 3 minutes; drain and cool.

    Cut core out to loosen leaves.
