Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

- 6 cabbage leaves
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. cooked rice
- 1 small onion
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp. poultry seasoning or thyme
- 1 Tbsp. Wesson oil
- 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
- 1/2 tsp. brown sugar
- 1/8 c. water
- 1/4 tsp. lemon juice
Directions

1Cover leaves with boiling water and let stand for 5 minutes or until limp.

2Drain.

3Combine next 7 ingredients.

4Place equal portions of meat mixture in center of each leaf.

5Fold sides of each leaf over meat.

6Roll up and fasten with toothpick or string. Brown in hot Wesson oil.

7In a very large skillet put in sauce. Combine sugar, water and lemon juice.

8Stir into tomato sauce. Simmer, covered, 1 hour, basting occasionally.
