Ingredients
- 12 pecan or walnut halves
- 24 pitted whole dates
- 1 c. all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. baking soda
- 1/3 c. packed brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. margarine or butter
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/3 c. dairy sour cream
- 1 recipe Golden Frosting
Directions

1Cut pecans or walnuts lengthwise.

2Stuff dates with nuts; set aside.

3In a small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and soda; set aside.

4In a mixer bowl, beat brown sugar and margarine with electric mixer on medium speed until combined.

5Add egg yolk and beat on medium speed until combined.

6Add flour mixture and sour cream alternately, beating on low speed until combined.

7Stir in filled dates.

8Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls (1 date per cookie) onto a greased baking sheet.

9Bake in a 375° oven for 7 to 9 minutes or until golden brown.

10Remove, cool.

11Frost with Golden Frosting.
