- 1 large deer heart
- 3 Tbsp. bacon drippings
- salt and pepper
- 1 chopped onion
- 3 c. Stove Top dressing
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 whole onion
Directions

1Cut pocket in heart.

2Remove extra fat and string from around top of heart.

3Soak in cold, salt water for 15 minutes.

4Wipe dry. Stuff heart with chopped onion and dressing using toothpicks, skewers or string to fasten opening.

5Brown all sides of stuffed heart.

6Add whole onion, salt and pepper.

7Add water to Dutch oven and cook for 3 to 4 hours.

8Slice heart thinly after removing dressing.
