  • 1 to 1 1/2 lb. grapevine leaves
  • 1/2 c. chopped onions
  • 2 1/2 c. olive oil
  • 1 c. raw rice
  • 1/2 c. chopped parsley
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • water
  • garlic
  • 1/2 lb. lean meat (optional)

Directions

    Saute chopped onions in 1/2 cup oil.

    Stir until golden. Drain the onions and set them in a bowl.

    Add 1 cup raw rice, chopped parsley, salt, pepper and a dash of garlic.

    (Meat is optional.)

    Mix them all.
