  • 2 lbs lean ground beef
  • 1 large potato, raw, then grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 18 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 onion, grated
  • 14 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 12 cup quick-cooking oatmeal
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 18 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 dash garlic salt
  • 4 tablespoons shortening, melted
  • 6 ounces tomato sauce
  • 12 cup water

Directions

    Mix first 7 ingredients.

    Spread mixture out in a rectangle to the depth of one inch.

    Mix the next 8 ingredients.

    Spread on top of the hamburger mixture.

    Roll up like a Jelly Roll, starting on the long side.

    Seal edge closed.

    Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

    Mix tomato sauce and 1/2 cup water and pour over the rolled hamburger.

    Bake an additional 30-45 minutes.
