Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 1 lb. large mushrooms
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. green pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1 1/2 c. dried bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. dried thyme leaves
  • 1/4 tsp. ground turmeric
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/2 c. Cheddar or Mozzarella cheese, shredded

    Finely chop enough stems

    for 1/3 cup. Saute chopped mushroom stems, onion and green pepper in margarine until tender, approximately 5 minutes.

    Heat margarine in shallow baking dish until melted.
