Stuffed Mushrooms

  • 1/2 lb. sweet Italian sausage, remove skin
  • 1/4 c. bread crumbs
  • 3/4 to 1 lb. fresh large mushrooms
  • 1 very small diced onion
  • 2 oz. shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg

Directions

    Remove mushroom stems.

    Dice about 1/2 or less of stems. Place mushroom caps on foil covered cookie sheet.

    In a mixing bowl, add sausage, stems, onions, egg, bread crumbs and cheese. Mix well.

    Stuff caps with mixture.

    Bake at 350° about 40 minutes.

    Serve piping hot.
