Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef sauteed with 1/2 c. onion
  • 2 Tbsp. fat
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 can water
  • 1 c. cooked rice
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour (over meat)
  • 6 peppers
  • buttered bread crumbs
  • grated cheese

Directions

    Saute the ground beef and onion in the fat.

    Add the tomato sauce, water, rice, salt, pepper, sugar and flour.

    Simmer for 15 minutes.

    Clean peppers; boil for 2 minutes and drain.

    Stuff the peppers with hamburger mixture.

    On top, add 4 tablespoons buttered bread crumbs and 4 tablespoons grated cheese.

    Bake for 1/2 hour at 375°.
