Stuffed Peppers

Ingredients

  • 6 green peppers
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 can tomatoes
  • 1 large can tomato sauce, divided
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/4 c. rice
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • grated cheese

Directions

    Remove seed from peppers and boil 2 minutes in clear water. Drain and cool.

    Saute ground beef.

    Add onion and can of tomatoes. Cook about 15 minutes on medium.

    Add remaining ingredients, but only 1/2 of the tomato sauce.

    Bring to a boil and simmer about 30 minutes.

    Fill peppers and place in a baking dish.

    Pour remaining half of tomato sauce over tops and sprinkle with a little grated cheese.

    Bake in 350° oven for 20 to 30 minutes.
