- 6 medium bell peppers
- 1 lb. hamburger
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 lb. can tomatoes
- 1/2 c. water
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. sharp American cheese, shredded
- 1/2 c. long grain rice
Directions

1Cut off top of peppers.

2Remove seeds.

3Put peppers in boiling, salted water for about 5 minutes.

4Drain.

5(For crisp peppers, omit precooking.)

6Sprinkle inside or peppers generously with salt. Cook beef and onion until brown, seasoned with salt and pepper. Add tomatoes, water, rice and Worcestershire sauce.

7Cover and simmer until rice is tender.

8Stir in cheese.

9Stuff peppers. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for about 20 to 25 minutes.
