  • 10 medium green peppers
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 1 (8 oz.) can seasoned tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. cooked rice or whole kernel corn
  • 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • bread crumbs

Directions

    Brown meat and onion until almost dry.

    Add tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and salt.

    Simmer until hot (about 5 minutes).

    Add cheese; stir until melted.

    Stir in rice.

    Stuff peppers; sprinkle tops with bread crumbs.

    Fill baking dish with 1/2 inch water.

    Place peppers in dish; bake, uncovered, at 350° for 40 minutes, or until hot through.
