  • 1 1/2 lb. broccoli
  • 6 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 c. minced parsley
  • 3 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 (35 oz.) can Italian plum tomatoes, drained and chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. thyme
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/3 c. pine nuts
  • 1 lb. spaghetti

    Peel broccoli stems; cut into 3/4-inch slices.

    Break flowerets into small pieces.

    Set aside.

    In a 10-inch fry pan, heat 4 tablespoons oil.

    Add 1/4 cup parsley and garlic.

    Cook 1 to 2 minutes without browning.
