Stuffed Peppers

  • 4 green peppers
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 c. cooked rice (about 2/3 c. uncooked)
  • 1/4 c. chopped onions
  • 1 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans Hunt's tomato sauce

Directions

    Cut green peppers in half lengthwise.

    Remove seeds and wash. Combine ground beef with rice, onion, salt, pepper and 1/2 can tomato sauce.

    Pile lightly into pepper halves.

    Place in a large baking dish.

    Pour tomato sauce on top of each pepper.

    Cover tightly and bake in moderate oven at 350° for 1 1/4 hours or until peppers are tender, basting occasionally.

    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
