Ingredients
- 1 beef top loin steak, cut 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick (about 1 lb.)
- 2 Tbsp. chopped onion
- 2 Tbsp. chopped mushrooms
- 2 tsp. butter or margarine
- 2 oz. diced ham (1/2 c.)
- 2 tsp. fine dry bread crumbs
- 2 tsp. snipped parsley
- 2 tsp. cooking oil
- 1/2 slice Swiss cheese (1/2 oz.)
Directions

1Cut a deep slit horizontally in the steak to form a pocket. Cook the onion and mushrooms in butter or margarine until tender. Stir in ham, bread crumbs, parsley, oil and dash of pepper.

2Cook 2 minutes more.

3Spoon mixture into pocket in meat; place cheese in pocket.

4Secure pocket with skewers.

5Place steak on unheated rack of broiler pan.

6Broil 4 inches from the heat about 8 minutes per side for medium-rare or until of desired doneness.

7To serve, slice meat crosswise.
