  • 4 to 6 medium size tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 1/2 stick real butter
  • 1 Tbsp. flour
  • small carton half and half
  • 1 c. grated Colby cheese
  • 1/2 c. bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • salt and pepper

Directions

    Dip tomatoes quickly in hot water, then in cold.

    Remove skin and core.
  3. 3
    Scoop out inside of tomato and save pulp.
  4. 4
    Season tomatoes with salt and pepper and turn upside-down to drain. Brown onions in butter.

    Add flour to thicken.

    Add half and half and stir until thick.

    Add cheese and bread crumbs.

    Add part of tomato pulp into mixture.

    Add salt, pepper, Worcestershire and nutmeg.

    Stuff tomatoes and top with bread crumbs.

    Bake at 375° for 30 minutes.
