- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- enough water to moisten cornstarch
- 1/2 c. boiling water
- 3 egg whites
- few grains salt
- 6 Tbsp. sugar
Directions

1In saucepan, moisten cornstarch in a small amount of water. Stir in the boiling water.

2Cook until thick and clear.

3Cool.

4In bowl, beat egg whites until stiff.

5Add salt and then add sugar gradually.

6Beat in the cooked and cooled cornstarch and beat until of the right consistency to stand in pretty peaks.

7Top pie and brown as usual in a 375° oven.
