- 1 c. water
- 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 6 c. flour, sifted
- 2 pkg. dry yeast, dissolved in 1 c. lukewarm water
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Melt the first 3 ingredients over low heat and add 1 teaspoon salt.

2When stove mixture is cool, add eggs.

3Beat them; add yeast.

4Pour over flour and mix well.

5Set aside until doubled in bulk, 2 or 3 hours.

6This mixture will keep in the refrigerator up to a week if mashed down every day.
