- 2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 1 c. butter, softened
- 1 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- sugar
Directions

1Into a large bowl, measure flour, butter, vanilla, egg and 1/2 cup sugar.

2With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until well blended, occasionally scraping bowl with spatula.

3Preheat oven to 400°.

4Spoon half of dough into decorating bag with medium rosette tube.

5Pipe dough into 3-inch lengths, about 1-inch apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet.

6Sprinkle cookies lightly with sugar. Bake 6 to 8 minutes until golden.

7Carefully remove cookies to racks to cool.

8Repeat until all dough is used.

9Store in tightly covered container to use up within 1 week.

10Makes about 5 dozen.
