  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. oil
  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 4 1/2 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions

    Beat sugars, oil, butter and eggs until fluffy.

    Stir in sifted flour, soda, cream of tartar, salt and flavoring.

    Beat until well blended.

    Place on waxed paper and chill 3 hours.

    Roll in small balls and flatten with a glass dipped in sugar.

    Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes, or until light brown.

    Yields 4 to 5 dozen.
