Ingredients

  • 1 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 c. butter, oleo or Crisco
  • 1 c. vegetable oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 4 c. and 2 Tbsp. sifted flour

    Cream sugar and butter.

    Add eggs, oil and vanilla.

    Beat until soft and fluffy.

    Combine all dry ingredients and stir gradually to creamed mixture.

    Chill for 4 hours or longer.

    Roll into 1-inch balls.

    Place on ungreased cookie sheet.

    Flatten with glass or fork dipped in sugar.

    Bake at 375° for 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly brown.
