  • 6 c. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 c. shortening or lard
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. lemon oil or 1 Tbsp. lemon extract

Directions

    Put flour in large bowl and hollow out center.

    Add the remaining ingredients in the middle and mix ingredients with hands like making bread.

    Add more flour as needed to make it doughy. Roll on flat, floured surface.

    Cut cookies and sprinkle with sugar.

    Preheat oven to 375°.

    Bake approximately 7 minutes.
