  • 1 (9-inch) pie shell, baked
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch
  • 2 c. milk or 1 c. half and half and 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • nutmeg or cinnamon

Directions

    Melt butter and add sugar and cornstarch.

    Stir until smooth. Add milk and cook over medium heat until thick like pudding.

    Stir in vanilla and pour into pie shell.

    Sprinkle top with nutmeg or cinnamon and place in a 350° oven for 5 to 10 minutes.

    Cool and serve.
