  • 1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c. granulated sugar
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract (I prefer maple or black walnut)
  • 3 c. walnuts

Directions

    Combine both kinds of sugar and the sour cream in saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring, until sugar is dissolved. Continue cooking, without stirring, to 238° on candy thermometer, or until a little drop of the mixture in cold water forms a soft ball.

    Remove from heat.

    Add whichever flavoring you prefer and the walnuts.

    Stir gently until all nuts are coated.
