Sugared Pecans

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 lb. (4 c.) pecans, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted

Directions

    Beat egg whites until foamy.

    Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.

    Fold in pecans.

    Pour butter into a 15 x 10 x 1-inch jelly roll pan. Spread pecan mixture over butter.

    Bake at 325° for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.

    Cool and store in an airtight container.
