- 1 lb. smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 medium size green pepper, chopped
- 1/2 c. chopped green onions
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes, undrained
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 c. uncooked rice
- 1 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Cook sausage in Dutch oven until browned.

2Remove sausage and discard drippings. Add ground beef, green pepper, green onions and garlic to Dutch oven. Cook until beef is browned. Drain. Add tomatoes, salt, pepper and sausage.

3Cover.

4Simmer 20 minutes. Add rice and water to meat mixture. Cover and cook 25 minutes or until rice is tender.
