Ingredients

  • 6 medium yellow squash
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 c. sharp cheese, grated
  • 1/2 tsp. each: salt and pepper
  • 1 c. cracker crumbs

Directions

    Wash squash; slice.

    Bring water to a boil and boil squash and onion together until tender.

    Place squash and onion in layers with cracker crumbs, butter, salt and pepper.

    Top with cheese and bake until cheese is brown.
