Ingredients

• 2 1/3 c. whole wheat flour
• 3/4 tsp. plus 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp. cream of tartar
• 2 tsp. cinnamon
• 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
• 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
• 1 c. honey
• 1/3 c. pure maple syrup
• 2 tsp. vanilla
• 1 (16 oz.) can juice-packed peaches, drained and chopped
• 2 egg whites (unbeaten)
• 2 (4 oz.) jars sweet potato baby food puree
• 3/4 c. chopped dates
• 2 egg whites, beaten
• 1/3 c. fruit-juice-sweetened peach preserves, melted
