- 6 1/2 c. cold water
- 3 1/4 c. white vinegar
- 2/3 c. coarse salt
- 1 large clove garlic
- 1/8 tsp. alum
- dill
- medium size cukes
Directions

1Wash cukes.

2Put dill on the bottom of a large jar; add cukes and put dill in the middle and on top, also.

3Cut garlic and place on the layers.

4Add alum.

5Mix water, vinegar and salt and pour over pickles.

6Let them sit in direct sunlight for 2 days or 3 if you like them more sour.

7Keep refrigerated.

8Makes 1 gallon.
