- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 lb. lean ground pork
- 2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans hot chili beans or red kidney beans
- 1 (28 oz.) can cut up tomatoes
- 2 large onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 Tbsp. chili powder
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. red pepper, crushed
- 3 Tbsp. wine vinegar
Directions

1In a 4-quart Dutch oven, brown the beef and pork.

2Drain off excess fat.

3Add undrained chili or kidney beans and tomatoes, chopped onions, garlic, chili powder, sugar, red pepper and vinegar.

4Cover and simmer chili for 1 hour, stirring frequently to avoid scorching.

5Serve in bowls topped with shredded Cheddar cheese and sour cream (optional).

6Makes 6 to 8 main dishes.
