- 1 teaspoon butter, spread
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 12 cups skim milk
- 1 cup shredded 2% sharp cheddar cheese
- 14 teaspoon black pepper
- 14 teaspoon onion powder
- 12 teaspoon chili powder
- 6 slices thick whole wheat bread
- 12 ounces thinly sliced low-sodium turkey breast (like Healthy Choice)
- 6 ounces thinly sliced low-sodium ham (like Healthy Choice)
- 12 slices tomatoes
- 14 teaspoon black pepper
- 14 teaspoon paprika
Directions

1To make the cheese sauce, melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat.

2Stir in flour; gradually add milk, stirring with a whisk.

3Cook until thick (about 10 minutes); stirring constantly.

4Remove from heat; add cheese, stirring until cheese melts.

5Stir in remaining ingredients.

6Preheat broiler.

7Arrange toast in baking dish.

8Top each toast slice with 2 ounces turkey, 1 ounce ham, and sprinkle with pepper.

9Broil until lightly browned.

10Remove from oven.

11Add two slices of tomato to each piece of toast, and top with warm Cheddar Cheese Sauce (see below).

12Sprinkle with paprika (and additional pepper, if desired) and serve warm.
