Suppertime Cornbread Dressing

  • 1/3 c. butter/margarine
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. celery, chopped
  • 1 1/4 c. chicken broth
  • 1 (6 oz.) pkg. Martha White buttermilk cornbread mix, prepared as directed and crumbled
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Grease an 8-inch square baking dish or pan.

    Melt butter in a skillet; saute onion and celery until tender.

    Pour into mixing bowl.

    Add remaining ingredients in order listed; blend well.

    Pour into prepared dish.

    Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until brown.
