Swedish Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 2 lb. beef stew, dredged with flour
- 3 Tbsp. margarine
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 1/4 c. fresh brewed coffee
- 1 1/4 c. beef stock
- 2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 2 small tins anchovies, chopped
- salt and pepper
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 3 Tbsp. flour mixed with 2 Tbsp. water to thicken stew
Directions

1In heated Dutch oven, melt butter and 2 tablespoons margarine. Brown the beef.

2Remove meat, add 1 tablespoon margarine and cook chopped onion 10 minutes.

3Add coffee, broth, brown sugar and anchovies.

4Bring to a boil.

5Add meat and spices.

6Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 2 hours.

7Thicken with flour-water paste. Serves 4.
