  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 2/3 c. butter or oleo
  • 1 c. sugar (white)
  • 1 c. sugar (brown)
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. nuts
  • 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Mix thoroughly shortening, butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla.

    Blend in remaining ingredients.

    Drop dough by rounded teaspoonful 2-inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet.

    Bake at 350° for 12 minutes.

    Yields 7 dozen.
