  • 1 1/2 c. blanched almonds *
  • 2 c. walnut halves
  • 1 c. sugar
  • dash of salt
  • 2 egg whites, beaten
  • 1/2 c. butter

    *To blanch almonds, pour boiling water over nuts and let sit about 3 to 5 minutes.

    Drain.

    Cover with cold water and slip skins off.

    Dry on towel.
