- 1 1/2 c. blanched almonds
- 2 c. pecan halves
- 1 c. sugar
- dash of salt
- 2 stiffly beaten eggs whites
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
Directions

1Toast almonds and pecans in slow oven (325°) until light brown.

2Fold sugar and salt into egg whites.

3Beat until stiff peaks form.

4Fold nuts into meringue.

5Melt butter in a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan; spread nut mixture over butter. Bake in slow oven (325°) about 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes, or until nuts are coated with a brown covering and no butter remains in pan.

6Cool.

7Makes about 4 cups.
