- 1 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 egg whites
- pinch of salt
- 2 c. (1 lb.) pecans
Directions

1Preheat oven to 325°.

2Warm pecans for 10 minutes in oven. Melt butter; set aside.

3Beat eggs and gradually add sugar until stiff.

4Stir pecans and meringue together.

5Stir meringue-nut mixture into melted butter.

6Spread out on a cookie sheet; bake for 30 minutes.

7Stir every 10 minutes, or until butter is absorbed.

8Cool.
