  • 1 c. syrup
  • 1 tsp. ground dried orange peel
  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 cardamom seeds, ground

Directions

    Bring the first 3 ingredients to the boiling point. When cool, add the remaining ingredients. Add enough flour to make a stiff dough. Chill and roll thin. Dough may be made the night before baking.
