  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 c. warm water
  • 2 c. rye flour
  • 1/2 c. dark molasses
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 6 to 6 1/2 c. bread flour

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in warm water.

    Place in mixer and using a dough hook, add the remaining ingredients.

    Turn out on floured board and knead for 10 minutes.

    Shape into loaves, brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with salt.

    Bake at 375° for 30 to 35 minutes.
