Sweet 'N Sour Cabbage

- 1 medium head red cabbage
- 2 Tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice
- 4 slices bacon
- 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/4 c. vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 small onion
Directions

1Shred cabbage.

2In a saucepan, heat 1/2 inch salted water and 2 tablespoons vinegar to boiling.

3Add cabbage and cook for 5 minutes.

4Drain.

5Fry bacon crisp and drain; pour off all but 1 tablespoon fat.

6Stir brown sugar and flour into fat.

7Add water, vinegar, salt, pepper and onion.

8Cook until it thickens (about 5 minutes).

9Add bacon and sauce to cabbage.

10Stir thoroughly. Serve hot.
