- 2 gal. cucumbers, cut in 3/4-inch rounds
- boiling water
- 1 teacup salt
- 1 Tbsp. powdered alum
Directions

1Put cucumbers in stone jar or glass.

2Pour over them 1 gallon boiling water with 1 teacup salt dissolved.

3Let stand 8 days. On the 8th day,

4drain off water and wash good. Then pour over gallon boiling water and let stand 24 hours.
