Sweet Refrigerator Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. warm water, divided
  • 1/2 c. margarine, softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 8 c. flour, divided

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.

    Melt margarine in remaining warm water.

    Add sugar, salt and beaten egg to margarine and water.

    Cook to lukewarm.

    Add yeast and 1/2 of flour; mix until all ingredients are well blended.

    Add enough remaining flour to make a stiff dough.

    Place in a greased bowl.

    Turn once to grease top of dough.

    Cover and refrigerate.

    When ready to use, take out needed amount.

    Make into rolls.

    Place in lightly greased pans and let rise 3 to 4 hours, until double in size. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes or until brown.
