- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup golden raisins
- 20 prunes
- 25 whole cloves
- 1 (3-inch) stick cinnamon
- 3 1/2 quarts water
- 1/4 cup plus 3 tablespoons quick-cooking tapioca
- 1 quart grape juice
- 1/2 cup lemon juice
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons salt
Directions

1Combine raisins, prunes, cloves, cinnamon, and water in a large Dutch oven; stir well. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, 30 minutes or until fruit is tender.

2Stir in remaining ingredients, and bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain soup; discard fruit or save for use in another recipe. Soup may be served hot or cold.
