  • 6 slices white bread, crusts removed
  • 1 lb. hot sausage
  • 1 tsp. prepared mustard
  • 1 c. grated Swiss cheese or 2 c. grated Mozzarella
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • dash of pepper and nutmeg

Directions

    Brown sausage, stirring to break up.

    Drain.

    Place bread in bottom of greased 9 x 13-inch glass baking dish.

    Spread crumbled sausage over bread.

    Top with cheese.

    Mix eggs, milk, salt, pepper, nutmeg, mustard and Worcestershire sauce and pour over casserole.

    Let stand, covered, in refrigerator overnight. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes, uncovered.
