- round steak (2 inches thick)
- bacon dripping or Crisco
- 1 onion, cubed
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- 1 (No. 2) can tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. flour
Directions

1Pound flour into steak. Melt fat in skillet and sear steak on both sides. Remove steak to large casserole or roaster.

2There should be at least 2 tablespoons fat remaining in the skillet. To this add the flour and blend; stir in tomatoes, seasonings and onion. Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils. Pour over steak; cover roaster and bake in 350° oven until tender, about 3 hours.
