- 1 thick round steak, cut into serving pieces
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1 large onion, diced
- 2 large cans tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp. Crisco
- meat tenderizer
Directions

1Sprinkle steak pieces with meat tenderizer.

2Dip into flour which has been mixed with salt and pepper.

3Pound with tenderizer mallet.

4Put Crisco into skillet.

5Place steak pieces in to brown. When steak has browned, set aside.

6In a 2-quart saucepan, put tomatoes and chopped onions.

7Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste. Bring to boil.

8Turn down heat; simmer.

9Put browned steak pieces in roasting pan or double boiler.

10Pour tomato and onion mixture over steak.

11Put into 350° oven for 45 minutes.
