  • 1 1/2 lb. round steak
  • 1/2 onion, sliced
  • 1 can whole tomatoes, put through sieve
  • 1/3 c. green peppers, diced
  • 1/3 c. carrots, sliced

    Trim fat and tenderize meat.

    Cut steak into portions.

    Salt, pepper and flour each piece.

    Fry in skillet with 2 tablespoons Crisco until golden brown.

    Set aside each piece on plate.

    In a casserole dish, add tomatoes, 1 cup water, steaks, onions, green peppers and carrots.

    Bake 1 1/2 hours at 350°.
