- 1 1/2 lb. round steak, fat trimmed
- 2 Tbsp. flour
- salt
- pepper
- 1 or 2 cans stewed tomatoes
- 1 large onion, sliced thin
- 1 Tbsp. shortening or vegetable oil
Directions

1Mix flour, salt and pepper.

2Sprinkle flour on each side of steak and pound in with the edge of a small plate.

3Brown the steak in shortening on both sides.

4Pour can of tomatoes into a casserole dish (or 1/2 can if only using 1 can).

5Then place steak on top, sliced onions and rest of tomatoes.

6Cover and bake in a 325° oven for 1 1/2 hours or until steak is very tender.
